DJmag Best of British 2010

Nominations Announced!

DJmag plough straight into the Best of British Awards this month, ensuring that our fellow Brits receive the recognition they have rightly earned over the last 12 months. In an edgy, innovative and exciting nation such as ours, there’s no surprise that world-class artists are spouted by the bucket load. Best of British is our opportunity to bring to the forefront the new kids on the block, give a pat on the back to those who relentlessly make our ears dance, and recognise those who have contributed to the thriving music scene Britain upholds…

Covering several categories set out to recognise all aspects of the industry, no stone is left unturned. Our shortlists in each field represent the strongest candidates of the past year and we’re sure you’ll agree, very much deserve their placing. In the Best DJ category, nominees like Paul Woolford and Carl Cox continue to smash out blinding sets, whilst DJs such as Burnski and Jackmaster push forward in the Best Breakthrough DJ category.  Jamie Jones’ ‘Ruckus’ and James Blake’s ‘CMYK’ take two of the five nominee spots for the Best Dance Single battle and with venues, festivals and even fashion brands appearing in the rest of the poll it’s definitely going to be an exciting contest!

You can find all nominees on our website www.djmag.com and voting will commence on Monday 15th November!

With the awards party currently being finalised you can expect the usual DJmag madness next month and, of course, a strictly British line up… Taking place near our spiritual home in East London at one of the area’s coolest musical haunts the awards will be a showcase of the biggest names and a chance to experience Britain’s deep talent pool!

So which British artists have provided the soundtrack to your life and the backbone to your diary 2010? Who never fails to make an impact in your musical life? There are only a few days left until voting commences so check out these nominees and get your thinking caps on…
